Marc Anderson is a Managing Director at The Belay Group. Prior to founding The Belay Group (and its predecessor firm), Mr. Anderson served as a senior healthcare investment banker with Plutus Capital Partners and as a transaction advisory consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Throughout his investment banking career, Mr. Anderson advised multiple healthcare companies in their strategic efforts including acquisitions, divestitures and capital raises. While at PwC, Mr. Anderson performed valuations, financial diligence and accounting advisory services to both small and large corporations in a variety of industries. Prior to pursuing a career in financial services, Mr. Anderson was a professional cyclist in Europe and the U.S. In his down time from competition, Mr. Anderson was a part-time accounting professor while also co-founding a successful, rapidly growing endurance athlete coaching business, Endurance Training Network, and a real estate investment company.

Mr. Anderson has earned his CPA license and passed all levels of the CFA Program.

Outside of work, Marc enjoys hanging out with his wife, two children and friends doing pretty much anything active and outdoor!

Hunter Atkins

Hunter Atkins is a Director at The Belay Group. Mr. Atkins has spent his investment banking career focusing primarily on merger and acquisition advisory mandates in the healthcare space, during which time he has worked on numerous strategic advisory and capital raising transactions with considerable experience completing transactions in provider-based medicine. Mr. Atkins experience includes advising corporations, private equity groups, and entrepreneurs on acquisitions and sales of both public and private companies.

In addition to the provider-based healthcare sector, Mr. Atkins has completed advisory work in the laboratory, specialty pharmacy, and healthcare information technology and predictive analytics sectors.

Prior to joining The Belay Group, Mr. Atkins was at Lazard on the Middle Market Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions team. Earlier in his career, he held M&A roles at two other investment banks and worked at a large multi-strategy asset management firm.

Outside of the office, Mr. Atkins is an avid golfer and enjoys playing whenever he can, whether at home or on the road. When not in the office or on the golf course he can be found enjoying his other hobbies with family and friends that include skiing, fishing and watch collecting.

Matthew Schembri

Matthew Schembri is an Associate at The Belay Group. Prior to joining The Belay Group, Mr. Schembri spent three years at Lazard on the Middle Market Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions team.

During his time at Lazard, Mr. Schembri’s experience included advising corporations and private equity groups on acquisitions and sales of public and private companies, as well as special committee assignments and capital raises. Prior to Lazard, Mr. Schembri was an intern in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at DNB Markets focusing on the maritime and offshore industries.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys staying active outdoors, including hobbies such as personal fitness, snowboarding, deep sea fishing, and more! Matt also enjoys playing classical music on the piano where he learned to play on his own. His favorite song to play is the Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven.
